Audacious, rebellious and non-apologetic. Converse, together with street brand designer Don C, makes a bold attempt to redefine the limits of the well-loved ERX 80’s classic basketball silhouette by splashing on abstract animal and metal prints.
A classic since 1988, the ERX had an equal balance of bulk and tech. Underfoot, Converse’s Energy Wave technology provided enhanced cushioning and spurred the Energy Return Multiplier (ERX) moniker. Executed in five designs, this new cross-culture adoption digs into the rich basketball history and creativity of converse that many can reminisce about.
“There is a new generation at the helm, and they are ushering in personal memories and testimonies; this enables a rediscovery and resurgence of past models with a fresh perspective,” says Jimmy Manley, Senior Director Special Projects, Converse.
“It allows us to have a different attitude, one that is authentic to Converse — a counterculture view to basketball and street style.”
Converse ERX 260 Mid Just Don Animal Pack Black (GS)
The Animal pack uses two classic leather colorways (black and white) as its base and accents each of the shoes with an animal print — a signature execution of Don C’s. Each sneaker comes with two lace sets that mirror the print on the heel overlays. The patterns and textures are extended through an accompanying four-piece apparel and accessories set.

As for the metal pack, it offers three additional distinct ERX 260s in color palettes reminiscent of the convergence of ’80s punk rock and pop genres. Each is embellished by an assortment of multi-size studs and is adorned with an oversize “CONS” logo print on the tongue, loud and bold lightning bolt graphics and multiple lace options. Its four-piece apparel and accessory set is done with glam metal era tones.
